Canby girls basketball coach Brooke Cates (center) guided her team to a 12-11 record in her first season at the helm. The Cougars lost 67-61 to Roseburg on the road Feb. 27 in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs.
The Canby girls basketball team made a 320-mile roundtrip journey for the first round of the Class 6A playoffs, and all it got was a season-ending loss.
