President Frederik de Klerk’s visit will begin with the unveiling of the new Baker Prairie Middle School peace monument, called the Pillars of Character, installed last week near the school’s main entrance. The monument, made of three basalt columns, was the idea of the school’s Peace Advocacy class.
Former president of South Africa and Nobel Peace Prize recipient Frederik de Klerk, the man who arranged the release of Nelson Mandela from captivity, will speak at Baker Prairie Middle School at 10 a.
