Kevin Gibb and Greg Ellis meet canby residents during Thursday's event.

With the community meet and greet Thursday and interviews completed Friday, the path to a new Canby city administrator is shortening quickly.

Interim City Administrator Amanda Klock said that the process will pick up speed in the coming week.

“If the Council decides to make a job offer, we will likely begin that process early next week,” she said. “A conditional offer will be made and once negotiations are completed, additional background references will probably be contacted. Some references have been checked, a criminal history was conducted and education and degrees have been verified.”

Thursday’s community event thrust the two finalists for the job, Ken Gibb and Greg Ellis, into Canby’s publiGot a News Tip?c eye for the first time.

The two, who had toured city facilities earlier in the day, mingled with community members and city officials at Connection Central, then had a question and answer period at the end of the night.
