Teams from all over the state of Oregon and southwest Washington competed at the Classic Qualifying Tournament organized by the Oregon Youth Soccer Association this past weekend in Canby. The tournament helped fund raise for recently cut Canby High School JV2 soccer programs.
It was in early May of this year when Ben Winegar received the news he did not want to hear. The new head girls soccer coach at Canby High School saw one of the key elements of his program being cut due to budget cuts in the Canby School District for the 2009-10 school year.
