Peggy Savage

Peggy Savage began a career in journalism years ago as city reporter for The Stayton Mail. She later worked as city reporter for the Keizertimes in Keizer, covering the police beat, local and state politics and the community. She also worked for years in public relations and marketing.

After earning a Masters degree in writing at Portland State University, she came to work at the Canby Herald as education reporter.

While at PSU, she wrote a mystery novel as her Masters thesis about a small town journalist investigating corruption in city hall and the police department. She still hasn’t gotten around to getting the book published.

The mother of six children, all grown, she enjoys golf, gardening in her plot at Baker Prairie Community Garden, reading and working on historical research. In days past, she spent years sailing the waters of the Pacific Northwest. In her spare time, she is currently working on a new book, a historical novel.
