North Marion library fundraiser set for Saturday

City goals, vision matching up nicely

During a goal-setting session Saturday, the Canby City Council came to the conclusion that the city’s goals are already well in place. Thanks to the city’s recently completed visioning process, the goal-setting session focused on community issues, parks and recreation, transportation and public safety and growth and economic development as key issues.

County makes call for composting in Canby

The Clackamas County Department of Sustainability is recruiting businesses in Canby and other communities to join in a voluntary composting program. The We Compost program is aimed at businesses that generate food wastes, such as grocery stores, hospitals, schools and retirement homes.

Columbia adding to helicopter fleet

Three-car accident injures Molalla woman

A 51-year-old Molalla woman was injured in a three-car accident at Barnards and Dryland roads Monday morning. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said Anica Zuboff, 51, of Molalla, complained of pain, and was airlifted to Oregon State Health & Science University hospital.



Canby man’s identity theft leads police on trail of other crimes

A Canby man reported Feb. 14 that someone had made several fraudulent purchases on his credit card between Jan. 21 and Feb. 13.  He provided officers information on a shipping address in Portland where the items were sent.

Prompted by Clackamas County’s Film and Media Production Program, a new initiative by the business and economic development team to advance jobs and businesses in the film and media industry, Canby’s city council passed ordinance 1153 Wednesday, creating a Canby film and video production policy.



Fire hits Barlow Road barn late Thursday morning

Fire guts building

More than 40 firefighters battled a two-alarm fire that destroyed a storage building at Rose Agri-Seed on Barlow Road Thursday. Canby Fire District officials estimated the loss at $100,000 each for the contents and 60-by-100-foot metal building used for storage and new product research.

Visioning document gets OK

It’s official, Canby has a vision. The Canby City Council gave the okay to the city’s recently completed vision documents Wednesday night. Plenty of work, thought and time went into creating something the city can use moving forward, according to City Administrator Greg Ellis.
