A rumor mill has gained momentum this week, claiming that white children are being forced out of Trost Elementary School while Hispanic children are allowed to stay, as part of a plan to make Trost a full Dual Language Immersion school But the rumors are unfounded and untrue, said Superintendent John Steach and the school’s principal Angie Navarro.

In August, the Canby Utility board adopted a redesigned Share the Warmth customer assistance program. Columbia Bank in Tacoma announced Wednesday that it will buy West Coast Bank based in Lake Oswego in a $506 million deal.

Canby schools all received satisfactory marks on the state’s latest batch of report cards issued last week by the Oregon Department of Education.The grades showed no marked improvement or decline over recent years, but Knight and Eccles elementary schools lost the “Outstanding” ranking they had held for the past two years.
