Thanks to a grant from the Canby Educational Foundation, sixth-grade teacher Kim Kent, took her Knight Elementary School students to Salem to learn the ropes in what her students call a “mind-boggling” experience“It was the best field trip ever,” Kent said.

The Canby High School Speech Team brought home top awards at its first tournament recently.Thirteen students competed — eleven for the very first time — and Canby took second place overall.

Canby High School’s production of “Our Town” at the Richard R. Brown Fine Arts Center opened last Friday to rave reviews. The play continues its run Friday and Saturday this coming weekend.

The Ninety-One School PTA
hosted its annual jog-a-thon fundraiser where students worked to collect
pledges from family, friends and community members. Last week, the children
