Carus Chess Champs

The Carus chess team took first place at the regional tournament Jan. 21 and is now gearing up for the State Chess Tournament March 2 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.

Canby High School presented the Student of the Month Award for January to 19 students last week. Each student is nominated by a CHS teacher. The January Students of the Month are front row: Michael Sesko, Morgan Ciaramella, Iliana Javier, Desiree DeMarco, Maria Zamora and Sarena Laitinen.

Four Canby dentists gave kids a lot to smile about last week. Each year, Canby area dentists and dental team members take time from their practices to help children who lack access to dental care get the treatment they need.
CHS Thespians earn honors

For the first time in the school’s history, the Canby High School Theatre Company competed at the Regional Acting competition, held Feb. 5. And they did a good job.
