Barbecue and sidewalk sale
   The Canby Fire Department will hold a barbecue and sidewalk sale in front of Canby Safeway from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
   Shoppers can eat hotdogs and chips while perusing through the sidewalk sale items.
   Proceeds benefit the Prostrate Cancer Research Fund.
   Missionaries to speak at Nazarene church
   Greg and Terri Taylor of Salem, missionaries to the Philippine Islands, will speak at 11 a.m. Sunday, at Canby Chapel Nazarene Church at 2323 N.E. Territorial Road.
   A potluck will follow.

   Park Days in Canby
   Southgate Kids will hold Park Days through Friday at Maple Street Park in Canby.
   The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., featuring outdoor activities for first- through fifth-grade children.

   Community art exhibit at Wallflowers
   Wallflowers Framing Gallery will hold a juried community art exhibit from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 7, featuring professional and amateur artists. Wine tasting will be provided by Hip Chicks Do Wine and St. Josef’s Winery.

   Newell House, DAR to host family reunion
   Newell House Museum and Oregon State Society Daughters of the American Revolution will hold the first Newell Family Reunion Saturday, July 8, on the site of the home built by Robert and Rebecca Newell in 1852. The public is welcome to attend along with descendants.
   Robert Newell’s 200th birthday is March 30, 2007, and the museum is seeking descendant information. A genealogist has compiled a genealogy chart for the family and public, and attending family members are encouraged to add to it at the reunion.
   The museum will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors and DAR members and $2 for children age 12 and younger.

   Zoar Lutheran vacation Bible school July 10-14
   Zoar Lutheran Church of Canby will hold its vacation Bible school July 10-14 with the theme “Treasure Cove.”
   The event, running from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., will focus on the treasure that is God’s message. The event is for children pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Registration is encouraged.

   Watercolors on display at Canby Public Library
   The Canby Public Library is displaying watercolor paintings by Molalla artist Marion Griffith, the 2006 recipient of the Jack Richeson Gold Award at the Northeast Watercolor Society. She will demonstrate her skills at First Friday July 7.
   Canby Saturday Market 2006
   Canby Saturday Market is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays on First Avenue between Holly and Grant streets.
   Grad reruns on OCTS
   OCTS channel 5, will repeat showing of the Canby High School graduation for the next several weeks.
   Times are 7 p.m. Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. Friday and 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
   Food drive in Canby
   A canned food drive to benefit the Canby Alliance Church food pantry will be held during June at Heaven Scent Christian Books and Cody’s Coffee in downtown Canby.
