Roadside work to begin this week
For the next two weeks crews will be working on two Interstate 5 bridges over Highway 551, the Wilsonville-Hubbard Highway, just south of I-5 Canby-Hubbard Exit 282.
A geotech team will drill holes in order to gather information needed to replace the two interstate bridges later in the year.
They will work according to the following schedule:
   • Wednesday: Drilling off the right shoulder of southbound Highway 551, west of I-5.
   • Thursday: Drilling off the should of the southbound Miley road on-ramp at I-5 exit 282.
   • Friday: Drilling in the median of I-5 bridges north of Highway 551.
   • Next Wednesday: If necessary, the drillers will return to finish the holes.
No lanes of traffic will be closed during the drilling. Transportation officials are warning drivers to watch out for work zone signs, traffic cones and equipment along the roadside.
   Correction
In the Canby Herald last week, it was reported Southgate Kids will hold Park Days July 1-5. The event takes place at Maple Street Park this week through Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., not next week.
