To the delight of nearly everyone, the Clackamas County Fair and Event Center went to the dogs last weekend. The fairgrounds was the site for the 20th annual Clackamas County Kennel Club All-Breed Dog Show June 21-22, which drew nearly 2,000 entries

No one tail went unwagged, as canine entries from all over the west and as far away as Florida competed for ribbons and championship points.

“The show was extremely successful,” said Sharon Krogh, president of the Clackamas County Club. “We had almost 2,000 dogs. It is the largest outdoor dog show in Oregon.”

In addition to entries from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Montana and California, the competition also drew entries from as far as Florida.

The Clackamas County Fairgrounds and Canby are much appreciated by club members and exhibitors, Krogh said.

They love the community and the atmosphere here, she said. “One of my friends calls it the “Norman Rockwell fairgrounds.”
