We all know newspapers are heading into a new era with the Internet.
With so many different avenues of getting information, we've done all we can to keep up and re-invent ourselves with the new Web site.
And I got that first taste of it yesterday when I was doing more than just covering a game by taking notes and shooting photos. I brought along a small handheld video recorder and shot some action at the Canby High School volleyball team's match against Tualatin, as well as some earlier at the North Marion High School boys soccer team's match against Stayton that will be posted later.
I got to admit it was a little overwhelming, holding my notepad, carrying my camera, holding a camcorder as well as afterward, having to get interviews on my audio recorder. Every possible media component you could think of, I had in my hand yesterday.
But in the end, I think it provides a very cool feature for our newspaper. It's a great complement to the traditional paper product, and hopefully you return as we add more and more features and game videos to our site.
