By the numbers through Week 5
Last season, I started wondering how Canby stacked up with the rest of the state in football in terms of their scoring average and points allowed.

There are several interesting numbers to come out of it, and last season, Canby continually ranked in the top 10 in scoring and points allowed en route to its state quarterfinal run.

45 teams make up the 6A classification. The Cougars rank 11th in the state in points scored at 29.5 per game and seventh in points allowed at 16.50 through Week 5.

It comes to no surprise that No. 1 Sheldon is at the top of the list in scoring teams at 50.25 points per game, while allowing just 14.25 points per game on defense, which ranks third in the state.
